Crunchify.com recently moved to Genesis 2.0 and everything looks good so far. But I was missing one functionality After Post Widget
which I was using for Email Subscription. CopyBlogger’s support team has also confirmed about the widget deletion in Genesis 2.0.
Also, the space after your post on WordPress is a great place to display information to your audience for maximum exposure and, hopefully, high click-through rates. It can be a place to post advertising, link folks to other posts, or add just about anything else you want.
Here is a custom code to achieve the same functionality in Genesis 2.0.
There are Two ports:
Step-1)
Register “After Post Section”.
Step-2)
Add Genesis Hook to show widget after Post Section.
/** Add the after post section */ genesis_register_sidebar( array( 'id' => 'afterpost', 'name' => __( 'AfterPostWidget', 'child theme' ), 'description' => __( 'This is the after post section.', 'child theme' ), ) ); /** Add Hook to show widgets after Post Section. */ add_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'custom_add_after_post_box', 15 ); function custom_add_after_post_box() { if ( is_singular( 'post' ) ) genesis_widget_area( 'afterPost', array( 'before' => '<div class="afterpostclass" id="afterpost">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); }
Now you should have a new widget area right before your comments and after your post content that you can use to advertise, email subscribe form, build traffic or just impress your readers.
