[Update 12/06/2014]
Crunchify moved to Squidix Hosting. Checkout reason at the bottom of post.
3 week ago, Crunchify.com moved to Hostgator VPS Plan – Level 3 plan from Shared Hosting. Initially I was little bit concerned about paying ~50/month with this, obviously which includes cPanel.
But I’m very happy with the result. Take a look at below Time spent downloading a page metrics from Google Webmaster Tool.
Crunchify uses WP Super Cache Plugin to serve Static Web Pages to visitors. And as mentioned in below diagram pages load very fast. Initially it used to load in 3-4 seconds and now in less than a second.
I’m also really happy with HostGator’s customer service and support team. I highly recommend HostGator VPS if you are thinking of moving to VPS plan.
Reason for moving to another Web Hosting plan:
My MySQL instance was getting killed every 3 days. I filed Hostgator ticket and admin helped me a lot. But they were unable to fix DB issue completely. This issue is one of the reason I moved away from the Hostgator VPS hosting.
How come default setting kills MySQL daemon? Without that your WordPress blog is dead. Is that hard to believe?
