How to fix error: SLF4J: The requested version 1.7.16 by your slf4j binding is not compatible with [1.6]

Are you getting below error while running your Java Program?

SLF4J: The requested version 1.7.16 by your slf4j binding is not compatible with [1.6]

SLF4J: See http://www.slf4j.org/codes.html#version_mismatch for further details.

Then you are at right place.

In order to fix above SLF4J error, you need to make sure you have below dependencies in your pom.xml file.

pom.xml file dependency:

        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
            <artifactId>slf4j-api</artifactId>
            <version>1.7.7</version>
        </dependency>

        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
            <artifactId>jul-to-slf4j</artifactId>
            <version>1.7.7</version>
        </dependency>

        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
            <artifactId>jcl-over-slf4j</artifactId>
            <version>1.7.7</version>
        </dependency>

        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
            <artifactId>log4j-over-slf4j</artifactId>
            <version>1.7.7</version>
        </dependency>

One you add above SLF4J maven dependencies then make sure to load Maven change.

You could do that by reloading project.

Once you reload your Java Project, just rerun your program and you shouldn’t see this issue any more.

SLF4J: Actual binding is of type [ch.qos.logback.classic.util.ContextSelectorStaticBinder]

Make sure you don't have below dependency in pom.xml file.

        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.slf4j</groupId>
            <artifactId>slf4j-jdk14</artifactId>
            <version>1.7.7</version>
        </dependency>

If you see above dependency then please remove and reload your project. You should be good after that.
